when i try and record a sequence on the 60 (i followed the manual to record a simple drum track) i hear the metronome after i hit PLAY/START and RECORD. then I play what I play, then I hit STOP and when I hit play/start again to hear the recorded sequence, nothing plays. I cant figure this out. can anyone tell me whats wrong? this is the first time I tried to mess with the machine. i just plugged in the headphones and tried playing with a 808 kit on the disk i got with it. please help this brand newbie.

Is the track set to drum or to a midi device? it should be set to drum.

Is the track on? can you hear the samples when you hit the pads?

Do you have the Old OS or the new one? Remember, the old OS has that help key which might be useful.

yes the track is on, i can hear the samples when I play. I'm not sure if it is set to midi or drum, i dont know how to check that. i have the old OS (2.12) i dont know what to do. this sucks.

go to other and hit <Init PAR> It should be around there on the old OS.

That should solve your issue. Just try hitting one pad in a blank sequence while Play and overdub are engaged. and see if if plays after the seq loops.

you have loop set to on right?

elmacaco... thanks man, I just hit OTHER and set the defaults on the machine and it starting playing the loop back, but what I noticed was on the track data field after I changed it to defualts it now says: ch=16A-Drums when before it said ch=16A-Synth. So you were right, the track wasn't set to drums. thanks again. take it easy. as soon as I get some shit poppin i'll post it here and see what you guys think. but this machine is going to take a few days to get used to. this thing is no joke. peace

I had the 60 with the old OS for around a year, then got the new OS, let me tell you that it's like night and day. Seriously, make that the next thing you purchase, you wont regret it. Worry about the SCSI later
