My SCSI is screwed

man, so last night I'm switching between zip disks. One Zip is partitioned into ABCD and the other ABCDEFG. I'm on the ABCD and switch to ABCDEFG but it doesn't recognize the last 4 partitions which is where I need to save since the first 4 are used. I go to disk, make SCSI active....even though it's already active, thinking that then it will recognize the last 4 partitions, but it doesn't. It just makes the SCSI drive unrecognizable.

I've tried unplugging the SCSI drive, cutting them on and off in all combinations and nothing works. Is there any fix for this? Anyway to reset the SCSI "memory"? I don't see how just doing that can f' my whole scsi drive up.

uh oh. If you shut off the zip with the mpc on you could have **** up your scsi.

You need to get out of the load screen to switch disks I think, I always do this while in the main screen, then go to the disk menu.

I hope your scsi is ok. If not, contact roger linn and see if he can fix it.

hmm, i always eject the zip in the disc/load menu. no harm done so far

I have done that but IIRC if you don't exit it will still display the old disk.

If you boot from cold with the ABCDEFG cart in the ZIP drive does the MPC see all partitions ?

If no ...

Then the data structures containing partitions concerned ... or ... the pointers to these structures on disk are damaged.

Might be time for some data recovery.

When I'm done with my MP, I usually save everything and thing go back to the main menu. Then I unplug the power cord from my zip (with the MP still on) and after the the zip is unplugged I turn of the mp.

Is this the correct way to shut em down or is there a safer way?

ahhh, I fixed this, it was no big deal although I had to revert back to saving to floppies..sux...

but anyway, I just had to reformat another zip and then it started recognizing all my other zips...if this happens to you, don't forget to reformat a zip that doens't have anything on it...I didn't do it, I'm just saying
