shall i update 3000

shall i update my 3000 to the new 4000 or just add a s5000 to my system.

heard some good things about the 4000 .

I have an s6000 for sale...Shameless plug. Honestly though, I love my s5000 and I cant envision not having an s5/s6 in my setup. I wish I had an MPC 3000 to go with my s5. I feel that the MPC 3000/s5/s6 is the ultimate combo for 16 bit production. Dont get me wrong I am very happy with the 2XL/s5 combo but I look at the MPC 3000/s5/s6 combo as the new MPC 60/S950 combo.

The MPC 4000 is a beast and a great machine. I feel there is a benefit though to having two seperate machines for this (and this is my personal opinion). The MPC 60/3000/2K/2XL's are amazing and simple sequencers at heart and they all share similar simplistic OS's. THe 4000's changed the workflow a bit with the new OS and the way it incorporates the s5/s6/z4/z8 way of handling samples, programs, multi's, etc. With the 4000, it is not as easy to create and load up a quick drum set and get to sequencing (I guess this is at first, before you get passed the learning curve). I think you are looking at it the right way though, the MPC 4000 is like the MPC 3000 with the z4 in it. Its kind of hard to explain if you havent had experience with the s5/s6/z4/z8 way of doing things.

Hell nah, don't do it!!! The 3000 is built to last. Dr. Dre didn't update, so why should you? You'll regret it.

Ain't you even thinkin bout checkin it out!!! I had a real long go on the 4000 tonight and realized it's the pads that make the groove feel diff'rent.

But hands down I kinda got use to it after a few hours......but the 3k's pads are still the shit on anything out there.

Keep the 3000, at all costs!!

im gonna be upgrading to a 4000 this week. But I currently use a 3000 and S6000 sampler and I love the combo. I know that the 4000 will allow me to be able to use both my 3000 programs and s6000 samples in one machine. So i'll basically try to get the feel of the 4000 and if I like it then I might get rid of the S6000 or just use it as a secondary setup.

I kept it and thank god i did. I have the S5000 sittin on top of the 3000 which i can now sequence through the 3000.

You will find the 4000 pads really shit compared to the 3000.

Killer combo. I finally got the 3000 and I have the same thing goin on 3000 + the s5. Got to love it.
