mpc 60 w/ s950

Bout to cop a s950 cause i have heard that in really enables more without any losses....Especially amped about the time stretching as i have nevber played with this before...I always was using just an nonupgraded mpc60II and still came off with some raw beats....Getting back into it now and am trying to take my beatm making to the next level...

You must love fl;oppies then. I have a MPC3000 w/ s950 and I hate floppies.

Check out the book beattips manual by Sa'id. The book gives details on using the mpc 60 and the S950 together and also other very helpful info.

what are some alternatives to the floppy setup...

IB-109 expansion board which gives you digital out and SCSI...or you sample directly into the S950 and then midi it up to the mp and control it with your 60...then run all the outputs into a digital mixer or whatever you use to track and record...

hit me with where to get that upgrade,,,thanks again so then i would sample into the s950 and control nit with the 60, right??

Don't get your Hopes up about the IB -109 Expansion board. They are Basically impossible to Find!! Nobody Has any! You gotta better of Catchin Farrakhan with a White Woman!

Sample into both, use both, no restrictions.

But I wouldn't go by the beat tips book. He gives some bad advice in many parts and you may be better off reading the manual and getting to know them yourself.

You must be crazy floppies are dope = I have the S950 and the drive loads quickly, saves quickly and I enjoy writing the names of the corresponding tracks and bpm on the disk to keep my ish organized. Actually, that's one of the things I dislike about the ZIP DRIVE feature on the MPC-60 - you have to keep a log of your partitions ie. A, B, C, D, E, F etc. by writing the partition label and the name of the Song. I also wish it were possible to load up the last beat you were working on when you power up the MPC, but I haven't been able to figure that out yet....not even sure if it's possible......that's my 2 cents.

Double-Sided Hi-Density floppies is where it's at......for the S950. Stay away from the Floppy Drive on the MPC60 - you could bake a cake by the time that thing loads an entire program....hahahah.
