ok, the knob gives off crusty sounds when i turn it, then it the output level was so low that i couldn't hear anything the way i wanted to..So i took off the cover and disconnected one of the wires connecting the volume control knob, volume immediately rose to the speakers out, but now i have no control of the out volume or any headphone output...I guess i need to get a new knob setup, or if anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know...also, where can i get a new v c knob, this sucks...

uh cutting the wire was bad, put it back. It sounds like a dirty pot, just twist it back and forth a lot with it off, then it should be less noisy.

VST in Pasadena should have a spare.

i tried disconnecting then reattached it, same thing was happening though, how should i go about cleanning this thing out? I am guessing that the low output levels stem from the vol control knob since when i disconnect it volume comes out of the mp at full vol, right??

you could try to clean by using radio shack tuner control spray or something similar but you may need to get a new pot for the volume control

Just turn it back and forth a bunch of times, you should hear it getting better.

thanks guys..I have had the 60 for approx. 7yrs, been out of it for 3yrs, got to get back to what i love, you know...I will try the turning thing, but am skeptical since it has been turned plenty, and i thought that maybe this was the source of the problem..Will try suggested options and repost tommorrow, thanks again
