Looping

How can I loop a sample so when I hold down the pad the sample stops playing as soon as I let go of it.

How about mentioning what sampler you are talking about and what OS if applicable?

Neither the 60 or the 3000 loop samples, so RTFM sounds like the best advice to give, the manuals are all easily available on line for free.

are you using the 60 or 3000? if the 3000 msg me and i'll tell you how to do it.. you can't set loop points but you just set the pad to note off.. if you need to know how to do that msg me

I read this today as well elsewhere (I cant remember where) that the 60/3000 dont loop samples but the 2000xl does.

I have the 3000 and the 2000xl and I really dont understand what is meant by that. For instance, you get a sample that is one bar (or you make a sample that is one bar) set the tempo to the tempo of the sample, set the bars to one, record the bar, and it will loop....

Am i missing something, is there something on the 2000xl that is different from this? I had (still do but in the box) the 2000xl for a while and I was good with it and I did this the same way.....

maze, we're talking about loop points on a sample.. so when you hold the sample down, it will loop a certain part of it over and over.. like a bass note for example........

Now I see, I was wondering what the hell yall meant. You mean looping within a sample not looping an entire sample. I never did that either with my 2000xl because I have other gear for bass and synth stuff I guess. Sorry I cant help, but thanks for clearing that up.

As far as the original question I think the cat just needs to switch up the envelope from: POLY or MONO to NOTE OFF if I understand correctly. That'll work with a 3000, don't know bout the 60 or 60II. And seriously on the subject of looping, due to the sequencer loop function standard cheezy looping is not necessary. But anyway, anybody use the loop function to make a weird custom sound out of a sample on a MPC?? I think I did it way back a time or two on my 2000 but I didn't get in the habit of it. Works better with the 'synthesized loop' function on an ASR-10 or EPS-16+...
