Loosing Sequence Parts On Save

Whats up everyone....

I am noticing some weird behavior when saving my sequences on the 3000. I never had this problem on the 2000XL so I am sure I am probably doing something wrong somehow when saving. Anyway here is the scenario. I will program a four bar loop of phrase samples midi'ed from my s6000. Some phrases are one shoot others are "as sample" which means they play as long as you hold the pad down. Now I noticed that somethimes after saving the sequence (midi File type 1), my "as sample" samples are cut off either shorter than I had programed and sometimes they are cut off completely. Please keep in mind that none of these samples are internal to the 3000 (if you care to answer). I think it has something to do with the way the 3000 handles note off. This is a big pain because I am forced to go and reprogram those parts again, and sometimes these parts are very tight transtitions that are hard to program in the first place.

Also, after saving, I always have to go and set the loop to again, not a pain, but if I dont have to do it, I would like to.

You are not saving your changes to the S6000 program, nothing to do with the 3000.

There are no changes to the s6000 program my man, that doesnt make any sense.

The multi/program/samples are saved automatically in my autoload folder on the 50Gig HD in my s6000. I am able to reproduce this problem at any time as well, some samples that are set as "as sample" play as they are supposed to and some drop out, it really sux, badly.

Its seems it happens when you use "as sample" samples with no timing correct set.

You don't change the sample playboack on the S6000? wehen you set it to as sample or whatever, you need to save again. Never messed with the auto save, so I'm not sure if it works like that.

What OS does your 6000 and 3000 have?

I think i have to preface this post by saying Im not a noob and that I had been using the 2XL and s5/s6 combo for a while and I am very good at using them, so that is not my problem. I dont say this to be disrepectful, but, I would like you to know what you are working with when you answer .

Both my 3000 and s6000 have the newest Factory Os's (3.10 and 2.14 resp)


When you quicksave or save via USB with ak.sys it saves all changes you made. I save my programs/multi's/samples after every session.

3.10 is not the newest "factory OS" in the 3000.

3.11 is the newest AKAI factory version and addresses a few issues with SEQuence managment and other stuff.

3.12 is the Roger Linn Design issue that allows MPC60 Rev 3.X spanned disk programs to load correctly into the 3000.

Fair enough Maze, thanks for the clarification, I try to err on too much info rather than not enough.

Why isn't everybody with a 3k putting 3.14 on a floppy and using that? That's the only thing that makes me jealous of 3k owners, that there are experts actively upgrading the OS who you can interact with.
