backlight power inverter?

anybody know where I can get one of these for a MPC 60 Mk!

try my electrical tape trick! search the 60 forums for high pitched whine title.

Does anyone have a pic so I can make sure I'm talking about the right part. I'm referring to the part my backlight plugs into. It isn't making any noise, my contact posts have come unsoldered and I am not getting any power to my backlight. El, does the electrical tape trick help that?

No it doesn't help, neither does a new inverter since it doesn't come with the whole board.

You just need to resolder the posts, or get them resoldered.

Yes, the posts are quick to fix, just solder them back in.

If you don't know how to solder, find someone who does it's not a difficult job.

Damn, why is that 60 in the pic so taken apart? Where are the endcheeks? The Armrest? The mk I opens up after 4 screws on the side, under the endcheeks, pops open like a hood, this pic has to be of a MK II, and DJames has a mk I iirc.

That's just a pic from the MPC60 yahoo group that I put in Photoshop to make a diagram of. I have a Mk I, the tank baby!

I have seen an inverter for sale on www.soundonsound.com (I spend too much time checking out the reader's ads). I wondered what it was for Anyhow, if you are in europe, check it out, it might be a good price if you need it.

james, did this problem occur with your purchase of the backlight from telesis?

i ain't about to buy my new backlight from them if this is the case. let me know.

I don't thin it had anything to do with the backlight from Telesis. Just wear on the posts I believe.
