a real risk of electric shock from opening unplugged 60?

i notice in the manual (and on the s950) it says to not attempt to open the unit due to risk of electrical shock, even if you've unplugged it.

i remember elmac posting something about just making sure your hands are dry and you're 'grounded' if you're on carpet etc.

i'm seriously thinking about getting the backlight replaced since mine is practically deaded by now. i just wanna make sure i open it safely, take out the backlight casing correctly for shipment to telesis, and install it back in correctly/safely before powering her back up.

just make sure you touch something metal before you start tinkering around with it so you don't shock the board or anything. i doubt the machine would store up an electric charge and shock you, but what do i know?

the risk of shock is due to capacitors, they can hold a charge for hours after the unit has had no power applied. On TV's it can be fatal voltages even after days with no power. On the 60 you'd have to be careful with the power supply caps. Just do it when it hasn't been on for a whie (overnight maybe) and what exacto said and you're well on the safe side.
