Browsing through the messages on the 60 users group on Yahoo and saw a series of messages where some dude was claiming that this is possible....

Says one of his friends has an EPS running 128MB

Is this baloney or not...?

Bunch of messages on that page.

It's BS ... Total.

The MPC60 CPU has limitations on the ammount of RAM in can transact with.

The MPC60 DSP chip is similarly limited where RAM use is concerned.

Any mod to use more RAM would need an additional software change and quite serious hardware alterations.

As for the EPS and 128 meg of RAM... WTF >?<

Simply making an address and data line compatible RAM expansion option for a computer will not increase said machine's capability to use it.

Unless the said machine was designed to use extra unknown quantities of RAM, which in "most" cases ... they were not.

The situation of addressing more RAM than is fitted standard on an EPS/ASR/MPC/SP/EMULATOR is not impossible ... but it's certainly complex and way beyond being a simple mod to perform.

If what the "dude" on yahoogroups mpc60 list said had any element of truth to it I guess we would all by now have our mchines maxed to the sky.

Cold fusion here we go.

Rohan.
