leaving the mpc on overnight

damn, i was working on some beats and fell asleep with the mpc running. i woke up to finish the beats and i think the mp's been running for over 12 hours. whats thte longest you had your mpc running? the 3000 overheats so easily that i usually dont leave it on for more than 5 hours. the hot summer weathers not really helping either.

I've left my 3k on for much longer than 5 hours and haven't had it overheat. I think I've left my 60 on for about 9...but I was workin on the whole time.

If I'm working on something I'll leave it on sometimes for days because i stay up so late that I just don't feel like saving evrything and crash out. Then the next day i get right back into it so it stays on. Never had a heat problem at all. maybe there is something up with your power supply or something.

Heat is the number one enemy of electronics, get some AC or some fans for the summer. And shut off your gear when you are not using it.

yup i leave my 2kxl on for months at a time. Whatever im working on just sits there for a few days or till i decide to make another beat. But its on 90% of the time. No screen issues or anything yet.

I have found that on hot summer days and after long sessions, the 60 seems to work slower when it gets real hot. I'm really good at shutting it down when Im not using it now. It's shut off 90% of the time

many 3k users i know encountered heat issues. its running on a new power supply. i mean, its not like i could cook an egg on it but it gets pretty damn hot. yeah noticed it took longer than usual for sample edits. those that say your mpc doesnt heat up, not even warm to the touch or not hot enough to burn your fingers?

due to a forgetful nature and the fact that i never know when i might need to hit a pad or two - my 60 hardly ever gets switched off.

i have never eally noticed it get hot, perhaps a little warm, like a snug wooly hat on a frosty morning, but it sure is far from being the warmest piece of equipment i've ever had. in fact, i'm more worried about my electricity bill...

I've experienced NO issues.

Don't have a 3k/60 but Ive left my 2kxl one over the weekend one time. Only that one time though cause I was outta town and I was rushing and didn't have time to save my stuff so I just hoped and wished that it would be fine. I came back sunday night and it was fine. still sitting there on (I turned down the contrast on the screen before I left) I turned up the contrast and saved my stuff and turned it off it, was fine.

Lets just end it at Not recommended and do so at your own risk and call it a day.

i usually leave my other gear on for days at a time, but since the power supply burned out in the past, im trying to be careful with my mp. my friends 2k doesnt even get near the heat level of my 3k. but ill start worrying when the plastic side panels start melting off
