I been tryna just amke a blank start up disk for my SP, without any sounds on it... I only have some drum disks. So I inserted a blank DD floppy and formated it. But everytime I load that disk (I formatted) up, its got the sounds loaded on it from the previus drum disk I put on it.. I just want to be able to start up my SP blank.

Im also having trouble deleting sounds... I'll click the Set-Up button and then proceed to press 20(delete sound) but everytime I press the 2.. i dont get a chance to press the 0 cuz the screen goes to
MIDI PARAMETERS
BASIC CHANNEL 01

is my SP screwed? or am I doing something wrong cuz I can get to all the other function under the Set-Up mode that dont start with a 2...

I know this isnt a SP board but I know a lot of you cats still rock this beast, in addition to your MP's. Thanks

Actually I have some sticky buttons but I found (when deleting sounds) that after I press Set-up.. if I press 2(kinds hold it) and 0 real fast it brings me to the Delete screen... that normal?

Hi,

Simply format a floppy by using in the DISK sect: 9Format Copy Software.

You may have to clean the buttons, they snap out easily. underneath the button is a little metal piece, lift it out and clean the under-side of it. also clean the non-removable metal contact piece.
then lay all pieces back in place.

Hope it help.

first off you definitely have a little problem with your "2" button, but if you take it easy on how you press it you probably can get around it.secondly,
to make a clean start up disk just load one of your drum disks, then in set up mode hit "23" that will put you in special mode then hit "12" that will
erase all memory.now with no sounds in the machine now you can format your blank disk.you should probably save sequences"disk mode and press 1" just to be sure it will load back up.
