greetings one and all,

:D just bought the 60 and can't say enough good things about this machine!!! i'll sum it all up with "get one!...you won't regret it!"
one problem though, now i need to know where i can get a grip of DD disks exclusive to the 60 (not HD, high density). there was a link to this somewhere but i can't remember where it went. yo could another fellow 60'er hook me up? please. much respect. dang! my joints are goin to kill! uhh! i plan on getting the SCSI next but i need to start saving my money again.

JUKE 179r wrote:Taping the right hole on a HD 3.5" disk enables it to be 'downgraded' to DD format. This may sound counterproductive at first, but there are practical scenarios e.g. compatibility issues with older computers, drives or devices that use DD floppies, like some electronic music keyboards and samplers (!) where a 'downgraded' disk can be useful, as factory-made DD disks have become hard to find after the mid-90's.

I hope this helps....

if you at all value your floppy drive, DO NOT DO THIS... it may work for a while, but over time it will kill your floppy drive!!! DONT USE HD DISKS IN AN MPC60, IT SAYS TO USE DD DISKS FOR A REASON... believe me, VST charges way tooo much to replace the floppy drive...
