Am i right about the mpc3000 OS's

i've been offered an mpc 3000 at an ok price and am tempted... but im worried its not got the most recent OS. I've been told it has version 3.10 which is ROM based in my understanding (therefore i dont have to load the OS when i turn it on). But i have seen 3000's with OS 3.11/3.12 these are updates which if you want to use you have to load each time you turn on the mpc. Correct? or im i way off - is 3.11 a ROM upgrade? if so how much is it and is it still available?

Dont bother with the 3.11. There is a newer os. i'd jump on it.

to boot the newest version 3.14 via floppy, i belive that you have to have OS version 3.11 ROMS or newer... to use the new OS, you will have to install new ROMS into your MPC... otherwize you can just keep your 3.10 ROMS and use floppies to boot OS versions 3.11 or 3.12... for info on 3.14 ROM chips, inquire at http://www.mpc3000.com/

i did look at mpc3000.com before posting. you can see im a fan of the site from my other post today in this forum. i was just slightly confused about the rom thing. i will email them to find out about the cost of a rom upgrade as i may well run in to issues using the new OS on version 3.10.

No, you need to buy 3.10 if you want the best OS for the 60 to date.
