Better sequencer, the buttons are more spread out. There are more but I can't think of them right now.

First of all, the MPC 3000 is NOT nessarilybetter. Many Producers and Beat makers Claim to like it more for a slew of Reasons. Some of them unfounded. Please check some of the older post on this board, cuz we've talked about this so many times we could write a MPC 2000 vs. MPC3000 Bible, and it's been the cause of more than a few quarrels.

What about sequencer hiccups, I own a 2000xl and have noticed a few hiccups here n there. I've never used a 3000 so I'm wondering if it also has that problem.

dont get rid of the 1K man. it would be gravy to have one older mpc and one of the newer ones. & 3Ks are going for a pretty good price, now would be the time to get one.

oh and vmt, 3K dont hiccup or crash, its solid.

how is it a better sequencer...to the best of my knowledge thats total bullshit....all the mpc sequencers have the exact same resolution.

Resolution at the DIVS PER NOTE = yes = same where MPC60/60MK2/3000/2000/200XL machines are concerned.

Internal resolution of the scheduling system is higher on the 3000/2000/2000XL than on the 60/60MK2 based on the fact that newer models have a faster CPU.

Whilst you may be presented with the same DIVS PER NOTE from a sequence entry and quantise point of view; the newer models run in a more precise fashion where internal event scheduling is concerned.

3000 does have a better sequencer than the 1000, resolution is such a moot point I don't know why people think that it's the be all end all of a sequencer.

the 3000 has track velocity and 99 tracks, the 1000 doesn't have Track velocity, and has 64 tracks, only 2midi outs, yall are really not seeing anything besides your own needs when you judge these things, and hip hop is pretty non-demanding as far as gear goes, so using hip hop production to judge gear isn't really saying much at all.

get a 3000! Its a piece of art, and could even be a good investment to, cause it seems to hold its value quite good. So IF u got bored in a couple of years u should get ure money back more or less.

For me, my 3000 is the backbone of my rigg, its reliable(i carry it around on gigs), and its not even about the sampling option or seq, for me, i use that sparely, its just that the machine bring my other gear ALIVE! and thats the timing and swing doing it for me!

And, i dont know about the 2000, maybe it could be the same. but i would never care to find out, Even tough i right now not using my machine like most of the guys do here(hey! i probably could make it w a asq-10) it is a security to just know that all i need to make a killer track is a MPC3000.

Its a complete production tool

welcome to the fam boy. I wouldn't put an internal zip on the 3k just b/c I like to have options just in case zips fail on you. I also wouldn't worry about shippin that heavy ass mp to forat or VST for a simple stop button. Plug a foot switch into the back of the mp and use that in lieu of the stop button.
