sample at 45 rpm? even if you had limited storage, would you sample at original speed to preserve the clarity? i always sampled at 45, but lately ive been feeling that it does more harm than good for the sound so im starting to sample most of my drums over. no 12 bit envy here.

its a bit louder when played at 45rpm, but i usually just sample at or around the speed im trying to get out of the sample...

Then why did you sample at 45 into a 3000???

I rarely sample at 45 and never for drums, they're short anyway.

I don;t like 45 for drums, not sure why you would with all that memory.

Volume is actually lower when you sample at 45 and detune. It became a habit from a while ago, trying to dirty up the sounds, but they sound crappy. Even tho i have plenty memory, big programs take forever to load, so i like sampling sped up and mono. Well, I have to admit i used to sweat the 12 bit but im over it. I like it dirty, but also with clarity. im looking at a casio fz..

Yeah I;'m not a fan of the 45 drums either. never noticed they are quieter.
people stress getting every kind of sound from one box and it will never happen, use the sounds the 3000 gets you and if you want a sound character it doesn't do well just get a rack or keyboard sampler to deliver that.

The FZ is ill. Good choice.

I rarely sample at 45RPM when I'm sampling into the 60. With 26 seconds I don't see the need (that's a lot of sampling time to me). Then again I don't really ride long loops anymore.

Saving 2-3 seconds just isn't significant enough. Plus samples don't really come out that much dirtier on the 60 when doing that.

And I agree, detuning drums isn't really satisfying on the 60. Sure, if you pitch them up enough then detune them on the 60 they sound grainier but not nearly as full sounding.
