mpc 60 memory check

i just got a 60 and i want to check if it has a memory upgrade... i know in my 2000 in sample mode it tells me how much sample time i have, where can i find this on the 60? or does it even do that? btw i dont want to open it up to check. thanx

sounds>5 and move the sample time up with the jog wheel. do this with no samples loaded, if you get to 26.2, you got it, if 13.1, you don't.

Even without OS 3.1? I run the original OS and I'm pretty sure 5 seconds is the maximum no matter how much memory is left. Is there any way to check this on the older OS as well?

Ithink there is a free sound memory number somewhere, not sure where on the original.

Yeah, and that's the same thing which I want to know if I have on my MPC? The upgrade that is.. ah well, guess I'll have to just sample in as many long-duration sounds I can and see how many seconds I get away with then.

all you have to do is set the time to over 5 seconds, if you can, you have the upgrade, if you can't, then you done.

try it with no sounds loaded.

Sorry.. but what upgrade are you refering to? I might be totally wrong on this, but I thought that with the old OS, five seconds was the maximum time regardless of if you've got the memory expansion or not? If the max. time sampling time is dependant of wether or not I have the memory expansion installed though, then I haven't got it cause 5 seconds is the max I can set the time to.
