Strange voice problem on my mpc3000

hey all !
I searched for this problem here before i created a new topic, but I could not find anything.

The problem I have is that my MPC3000 loses voices.
and this happends when i only user 3 sounds (and only 3 sounds in memory). It seems that when I have a kick, snare and a hihat, the hihat cuts of and get quiet after some minutes. All the samples are in mono mode and not in the mode where pads cutoff echother.
I just discoverd this problem, and i think the hitat cutsoff coz the are more
"advanced" programed that the kick and snare. I have tried with the 3.16 OS but same problem. My MPC is upgraded to 8 meg of ram (for like 3 years ago). My theory is that mabey the simms could be the problem.
But I really hate to open my baby up (it always hurt my heart).
So before i do that I just wanted to hear if some one had have the same problem.

This can happen with very short sounds. Take a sample of nothing (silence) for .1 second and use the copy zone to temp and insert temp to zone start to place silence before your sample and after your sample, so it is longer, with silence at both ends and the hihat in the middle, then edit the sample losely checking back with your sequence, when you cut the ending to close it causes weird drop outs if it is a very short sample. I had this issue recently where a rim wouldnt note repeat well at all, it would go quiet or throw weird syncopations on it until i added silence and edited it carefully leaving a bit more silence. if I remember right the begining could be cut close but the end had to have a little silence because the sample was very short.
