MPC sending Multiple midi outs to sound module VIA cubase!?!

Hey all.

I've been stuck on this problem for about a month and really wanna get it sorted. I think i know whats wrong..i just dont kno how to adjust the settings.

Heres what i wanna do:

Use my MPC as my main sequencer for samples and MIDI sequencing.
I want the MPC to send the midi data into my Motif rack (which is linked via USB from my computer)....
So, im sending the midi data out of the mpc, into cubase, and then out again into the motif....

Here is my problem:

The setup works fine using one single voice on the motif...but, im having troubles using it in multitimbral mode.

The way i thought it would be set up is as follows....

Each midi track on the 3000 is being sent on different midi chanells (1A/2A/3A etc). I then add a new midi chanel for each midi track coming from the MPC. I set the midi input for the midi tracks (in cubase) to recieve the mpc midi (mlan 3) - which it does.
I then set the output for each chanel to play the sound i want on the Motif - Which it does.
If i then have 3 midi chanels (bass/guitar/strings), i have to 'rec enable' each track in cubase (so that it gets sent 'thru' to the motif) for them all to play at the same time....which isnt a problem.

Here is my problem:

When im playing my multitimbral recording from the mpc, cubase seems to merge each track from the mpc, and send them on whatever midi chanell i have selected (so they all play on one sound on the motif).

I'm pretty sure that this is because the Midi in setting for each midi chanel on cubase is set to (for example, mlan3 - which is where output A of my mpc is connected to). So, i think cubase it literally getting every midi signal from Mlan 3 (MPC midi out), and sending that to the Motif.

So what i think i need to do (but dont kno how to) is somehow select each individual midi chanell (1-16) from the midi input (mlan 3), give each chanel a new track, and then assign the output of that track to the motif (on different chanels).

When selected the midi input for a midi chanel on cubase, it only gives me the options of the different midi ports i have.

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be great!!!!

if you want to do it through the computer you need to select (highlight) all the separate tracks you want, and on each midi track, set up a filter so it only lets one midi channel though.

Honestly I would just hook up a midi cable from the mpc to the motif and be done. if it's the keys you should use it as your controller too. Either way you can still hook up the Mlan to the computer for controlling computer midi or whatever.

there may be a better way of doing it, I am not too familiar with Mlan and it's possibilities.
