60 vs 2000/2000XL

Im gonna be bying a mpc within a near future, but i have a hard time deciding which one to buy. I really want the classic MPC 60, but i was thinking, is the MPC 2000 essentially the same, but with a lot more features and higher bitrate. I would love a 12 bit sampler, but if thats the only "advantage" i might just go with a 2000.

What you think? What are the most noticable differences?

the 2k feels like a toy, but if you proces your sounds properly onboard they can sund okay. itll never be a 60 though...i miss the chopping and filters but the 60 is just pimp. im thinkin upgrade to 60/s950 or mpc3000 and im gonna be set for a reallllly long time...

What's the sample editing like on the 60?? Is it complicated? Smooth?

yes its smooth, its old but still buttery..

haha. I had that same dilemia years back and now I find myself with both a 2000XL & 60 II. To tell you the truth, as far as options the 2000XL has it. The ease of use is a little better, and its just all round more upgraded. With that you'll definitly have more of a range using it in the studio.

Now, if what your looking for is classic hip hop, the 60 is it. It's almost a whole new feel, the limited sampling time, almost forces you to be creative. I love it but some people don't like the limitations.

All in All, I like the sound and feel of the 60 better, but with my 2000XL I feel I can create, add, and make anything I please.

So in essence, I guess I'm still undecided like you. I'd say just buy the best deal you can find on either of the two...

I don't know, i think the 60 is better suited for the "studio" because of the midi capabilities...2000 only has a couple I believe
