apologies if this is obvious but.....

when i trigger any module i have using my mpc pads via midi, the order that the sounds play is not the same. trying to play a piano line using the pads for me is impossible as the notes are all out of sequence. obviously i can sample a hit and then play over 16 levels but its not the same feel as triggering from the pads.

am i missing something - does anyone else trigger modules with the mpc pads?

help !

i forgot to add that its an mpc3000 i'm working with.

all the stuff i found so far relates to mpc2000s.

if someone out there can point me @ a thread that has the answer or tell me its not possible to do on the mpc3000 i'd really appreciate it.

MIDI NOTE NUMBERS AND PAD ASSIGNMENTS ARE KEY TO TRIGGERING EXTERNAL MODULES VIA MIDI...

hint:

the default pad/midi note numbers are configured for GENERAL MIDI, unless you are using a GM instrument, CHANGE THOSE ASSIGNMENTS... common sense should tell you in which configuration to assign the MIDI NOTE NUMBERS to the PADS...

good luck...

clearly my mpc knowledge is limited to a strictly "need to know basis" :D

i couldnt find a way to switch all the pads @ once but can change the note numbers one by one. now i know what to look for i can get into it a bit deeper.

thanks to both of you for helping out - i'll definately be checking all the forums out
