MPC Groove/Timing still present when using another device?

As a person who has never owned or used an MPC drum machine/sampler Id like to ask a few little questions from experienced users.

From what i have read its seems the MPC series has a strong following due to the rock solid sequencer timing and also apparently because the machines has a specific groove/feel in the way the beats roll out which is specific to the MPC series and which no other device comes close all tho many claim you can get the same feel from various emulated MPC groove quantized settings in software sequencers (which i highly doubt anywayz).

Suppose a user passionately prefers the sound of 'XYZ' brand hardware sampler and will only be satisfied with the beats coming out of this machine. Would it be possible to to have an MPC control this 'XYZ' sampler and triggering drum sounds out of it, while retaining the benefit of the tight MPC sequencer timing and groove? This other sampler has 2 Midi I/O and word clock. I suppose im thinking of using 'XYZ' sampler purely to record samples/edit/layer samples and be a used as as if it were a module controlled by the MPC. Obviously id like to hit record on the MPC and hit the pads to roll out a sequence which is triggering the sounds in the 'XYZ' sampler.

would just a MIDI Out from the MPC to Midi In of the XYZ sampler be sufficient?

YES. That is one of the strengths of the MPC, it is designed to control other units, multiple other units, and do so well.

The groove is all in the sequencing, so yes.

What it's gonna come down to is how many midi outs you need on your MPC. Each one has it's strengths and weaknesses, just research before you buy.

i'd say if you want that tightness, stay in the unit. the midi protocol introduces 10ms slop minimum, before you know it your beats will sound weaker than petes after he went 16-bit

Even when the devices are sync'd via midi beat clock?

Has anyone recorded the audio from an MPC (playing a 4 beat kik drum sequence in the MPC) into say Pro Tools and then zooming in on the waveform of the kiks set to bars a beats in PT an look at the drift? Then doing the same again in Pro Tools but recording the same sequence triggered from the MPC where the audio is received from a different sampler connected to the MPC over midi and then sync'd with beat clock to analyze the variation of the drift?

I've never had a big isue, the mpc controls extrnals well.
