MPC 3000 OS update

Does anyone know if there will ever be an OS update for the MPC 3000 that will add graphic waveform editing and tinestretch?

I am aware that there are a few 3rd party programmers that have added some functions over the years that work half the time ...but adding these additional features will be a step in the right direction for this classic beast.

Why do I picture jahrome driving a primered '92 Ford Escort that has been 'upgraded' with spinner hubcaps. It is a step in the right direction, right? ;)

Naw...I drive a sooped up 05' Camry because I couldn't afford a Lexus..besides, living back here in the US is a pit-stop...1 yr 5mo later, I am going back to Japan where I can afford things I want while people here complain about the prices of MPCs

There is nothing wrong with wanting graphic waveform editing in the MPC 3000 is it is possible. I don't actually believe it is possible

It could probably be done to some extent but it would look extremely crude due to the limited amount of characters on the LCD.

that will never happen. if you want wave editor and time stretch sell your 3k. this isnt a step in the right direction. whats the matter you cant chop wihtout a wave picture. you need to use your ears.

no Jahrome, it will never happen. Graphic waveform editing would take too much of the 3000's resources, and the 2000/XL's are slow enough to load the view, the 3000 would crawl.

Most people that know how to sample on a 3000 and 60 don;t have a problem with not having graphic waveform editing, there are enough features to let you hear the sound before and after each cut point, plus the software waveform editing and the MPC editor beat pretty much any other alternative.

Don't you have a 2500? Doesn;t that satisfy the requirements you want in an MPC? If not having Graphic waveform editing is holding you back on the 3000 then it's probably not right for you.

You can have a look at the alternative OS's that you denigrated a while back and see the kinds of things people have added. it's mostly enhancements to the existing design, rather than major new features or complete redesign.

The MPC 3000 served its purpose for me for many years. I have no complaints. Yes, I do use an MPC 2500..which doesn't serve all my needs.

I know that the MPC 3000 will never have these functions...I just haven't forgotten about a previous thread hinting that it could be possible


Also, I did at one time download one of those updates for my 3000LE. It had my MPC trippin

So, I guess my questions were answered honestly this time. Its all good.
