I know if you like the piece you'll want to defend it, But the waveform display does take time to draw pn longer samples, I've seen it draw slowly everytime you switch samples, it's one thing to not care about it or like what others dislike, but acting like it isn't there is just not conducive to anything substancial.
Your are talking about how long it takes for the S6000 to draw waveforms..but it really isn't that long. I never really paid too much attention to how long until you mentioned it because it never has interfered with anything. Even if you samples a hella long sample and had to wait for it to draw, you can immediately listen to and edit the sample by ear if you didn't want to wait the second(s) it takes tio draw the waveform.
Also, I am not sure if you had the latest OS for it..but it really is a solid machine..worth the $400 I paid for it.
Also, you didn't have all the accessories for the S6000. With a keyboard connected, you can easily punch in the numbers to make edits.
I believe you when you say that it is faster for you to edit on the 60/3000. But from my experience with those machines and the S6000, there really is no significant difference as far as time for editing sample start/end points. I have to add that the MPC 2000 has the most superior shuttle wheel of all MPCs. I would choose that wheel over any other.
I just got off taking another closer look at the editing functions of the S6000. The 2 cursor keys are right next to the shuttle wheel. I can't see how you can say that editing is faster on the MPC 60/3000. You have quite a few options editing at your disposal. Keyboard, mouse, jog wheel and cursor keys...what ever floats your boat.
