mpc60 w/ 2000xl??

greetings....i am the proud owner of an mpc 2kxl-mcd and i luv it!!my only beef is the fact that i only have 2 midi outs....so im thinkin of getting an mpc 60 to do some 12 bit sampling along with my 16 bit 2000xl....my questions is, if i use the mpc 60 as my primary sequencer, and slave my 2kxl in order to use the samples from there, could i use the midi outs in the 2kxl along with the midi outs in the mpc 60 so that i may have a total of 6 midi outs??

nah well it really isnt all about the midi......i want 12 bit sampling for my kicks and i would like to take advantage of the 60's sequencer while using my 2kxl for loops and other stuff that would benifit from 16 bit sampling,,...but it it would also be cool to use the 2 midi outs on the 2kxl along with the 4 midi outs on the 60 giving me a total of 6 midi outs.....so what do u think guys??possible??

lets see, i got 3 racks, and two synths.....i dont think i NEEEED em but it be nice.....besides, regardless im gonna get the 60 anyways just cause i want some 12 bit sampling along with some 16 bit, but if i could use 6 midi outs that would be koo..

what about midi through? cant you run dozens of racks w/ the 60?

Truthfully thats one big waste. If you want 12 bit get a s950. If you are feeling the swing and sound of a 60 get another 16bit sample like the eps16+ or asr10 rack. Why have 2 sequencers? Learn to use midi through thats what its there for. BUT you could be a gear junkie so whatever works yo as long as you got the loot!

i think u might be right....im gonna sell my 2kxl and go the 60/asr-10 route to take advantage of those effects...thanx!!!

werd, or just get an sp1200 if u want the ill kicks+snare.s..t he mpc60's 12 bit isn't too hot, it's nice but it'snot th ebeeze kneez for lo fi sampling...

ouch id disagree ....thats a tough opinion

the studio 440, forat, and sp1200, all school the mpc60 in terms of sound imho....

I agree. The 60 sound isn't anything all that special. It's not what I would call a "dirty" sounding sampler. Warm perhaps, but not dirty or gritty.

Then again, the sound of a sampler depends heavily upon your sample source and technique.

when dealing with lo fi the sampler colors the sound extremely. i think almost all samples color the sound ridicuosly...

nice list...did you hear em all side by side? or in similar settings?
