Would some 60 heads mind commenting on my new track?

I did the drums on the 60.
Samples on the S1000.

I played the congos. And theres a guitar part going along with the sample. So I can't really play so I just mixed it in and filtered it so that you can only KIND OF hear it.

Anyways...Both the guitar and congos were recorded on a Shure SM58 into the S1000.

i like most of the beats i hear of yours. that is by far teh most boring. no offense... if i didnt like a bunch of your shit i wouldnt even comment. its cool you recorded the samples. you get props on the idea.

beat is mundane....it's forever redundant, to the point where you feel like your torturing me.....give me another sample overlayed on the melody and i'll be satisfied.

ummm....thanks? I think you ment its ok but another sample to make it intresting would make it better. Correct?

Actually, I meant exactly what I said. My claim of its mundane quality, is for the fact that you have managed to only make use of a redundant, melodic pattern of a sample that is clearly mult-pitched on the 60 keypads. The fact that the FX come in far too late (around 2:36) only further supports my statement. I would also like to suggest that you should learn to arrange a beat with multiple layers of sound in order to gradually build up the level excitement for the listener. Start basic for the first 20 bars and expand on the first or second chorus, but not too late as to bore the listener. Also, the filtered sample should probably be applied after the hook/chorus which usually lasts 8-16 bars, or as the first verse sets in. And only then allow the verse (filtered samples) to play for 16 to 32 bars, before opening the sample up by removal of the filter in which to provide the chorus with the energy it so requires....your efforts were credible, but I suggest you keep trying more to construct and compose a short SONG, rather than rely on a simple 2 bar beat pattern and post production FX.

ok. Thanks for critique! Thats what I wanted cause when you break down what I'm doing wrong its easier for me to get better. Ya know whats cool Focus also said the basicly the same stuff you said. I guess thats something I need to work on. I'm going to practice on making my beats sound like songs.
