The major drama with the PCD-47B is that from a design point of view it is a hack compared with other "superior" INTERMART/MICROTECH models.
Seems that the PCD-47B doesn't respond to the standard set of SCSI commands an MPC3000/MPC60 spits out to communicate with connected devices.
Nor does the PCD-47 seem to correctly answer certain SCSI initiated capability queries.
The fact many other INTERMART/MICROTECH models work without issues on MPC3000/MPC60 machines places the PCD-47B in the lemmon category for most of us.
User MPC3000 who creates the
www.midicase.com site has a fairly good list of what does and doesn't work in the INTERMART/MICROTECH line up when his testing with an MPC3000. Most of his results will hold true for an MPC60 too ( same SCSI protocol control chip and software communication layer ).
As for me and instant messaging ... nope... not into that.
