I have an internal zip drive built into my MPC3000, how do you install the OS 3.16 update from a zip disk?

I used Disk2File to transfer the file from my desktop to an 3000 formatted disk.

You would need to place the mpc 3k image on it first. your better off placing the 3.16 os on a floppy.

Tal,

The floppy drive on the 3K died on me 10 years ago. That is why i have an internal zip drive. I just thought that I could install it on a blank Zip with MPC editor, and load it up??

Okay so format the zip on the MPC 3000. Create the 3 partitions like it normally prompts you to. Insert the zip into your pc. Download disk2file and transfer file using Disk2file. not sure if MPC Editor will allow you to do so.

The MPC3000 does not support booting an OS from a connected SCSI device.

OS booting on the MPC3000 is via:

a: ROM
b: FLOPPY

Method "a" is preferable.
