Noisey MPC60 - Fixable?

What's up? I just borrowed a 60 and while I'm diggin' the machine it's very noisey to the point of being unusable. I'm guessing there is some type of grounding issue or something & this isn't just the 12 bit grit that i'm hearing.

My question is quiet are you 60's? Anyone know what could be causing this hiss?

See if it's noisy on the way in or the way out and then check your cables.

Also, it could be your monitor setting, you might want to turn it off while you track.

the noise is generated on the way out . The cables are fine too. Seems like the output on the 60 is very low & the noisefloor is high.

mine was doing this.

i opened it and two of the caps near the outputs were busted.

i got new ones and soldered them.

im not sure if i have tested if its ok yet.. it should be

I'll have to check it out for any obvious signs that the caps are faulty.

seems the noise is due to the way i am recording. gotta check my threshold and other settings.
