Is anyone having success burning CDR's with Mac/PC & having them read on an MPC3000? I experimented with MPCPGMMAKER, but no dice. I tried all disk on MPC2000 with great success though. This leads me to believe its a formatting issue.

I have:

SCSI CD-ROM
Internal ZIP

SIDE NOTE:
Recently, I purchased MPCEditor(for PC) & a $14 USB Zip drive. I was able to load all of the files into the Zip and into the 3000 via its Zip drive. For some reason the Zip shows only one partition, I think I formatted by mistake when I left in the ZIP & did that Windows XP formatting on MPCEditor. I ordered some more Zip disk so I will try formatting the Zip disk in the 3000 and see if the MPCEditor will let me place files into the 4 partitions.

Anyway, if anyone can tell me about some success stories using CDR's & an MPC3000 I would appreciate it.

I dont want to buy any more software. Especially since all I really use the MPCPGMMAKER & MPCEditor for is .WAV to .SND.

I can create my programs in the MPC.

Thoughts?

Making an MPC3000 format CDR needs to be done ... "The other way around".

1: Start with an MPC3000 formatted SCSI disk containing files.
2: Clone it onto a computer sector by sector into an image file.
3: Write the created image file back to a CD sector by sector.

Voila !

Example ... on a PC.

I connect my MPC3000 SCSI disk drive to the computer SCSI port.

I use WINHEX to clone this connected device into an image file. ( there are other programs out there to do this also, DISK2FILE, GEMULATOR EXPLORER ... and more )

I launch NERO and burn this image to a CD-ROM. ( There are many other CD-Burning apps out there to do this also ... )

Note ...

The MPC3000 can be a bit picky about communication with certain types of SCSI CD drives.

Good luck.

Thank Rohan.

I think its worth figuring out. I got the cheap USB Zip drive for now, but I think eventually It would make more sense to get CDR's working with the MPC. I will make this work & give you my postmortem.

Thanks again.
