Howto make the 60 just replay it exactly how I played it?

Hi,

I'm new to the mpc-60 and was wondering,
cuz i was trying to record some drum-sequences, BUT..
How can you make the mpc60 record every hit you make
and replay it exactly at the time/point when you hit a pad?

I mean, the machine aut corrects some notes, and its not supposed to!
(if you know what I mean)
It destroys a good on the fly drum pattern in realtime! (ughh)
I just want it to replay the drums exactly how I played the pattern,
not shuffle or correct any notes. IThe auto-shift notes are ugly, jeez.
I dunno know to set this up. Manual keeps buggin bout 1/16th 1/32th
talkin bout timing, but I dont want that.

hit the timing correct button, then move the cursor up/over to where you see 1/8, 1/16 or 1/32, finally, turn the data wheel until you see "OFF". You should be all set.

okay, and how about the sequence-recorder starts as soon as I hit a pad?.
(without having to play on metronome time)

Can I turn the metronome off, and the tempo be analyzed while I play
a drumpattern?. I mean I would much like it for me to decide wich tempo to play a pattern in (hope you understand)
I cannot know the exact bpm I will be playin when playin a pattern on the
pads can I? Playin on metronome time just is too strict.
I can do it though, but I rather not be concentrating on that tock-tock-tock.

You can turn the metronome off.. hit the 'Other' button and you will easily find your way there. BTW, alot of this info is in the FAQ section at the top of this forum. Not to sound like a d**k, but don't forget to consult the manual before posting... some of us are a LOT less forgivin when it comes to answering questions

hit the 'wait for' key. first note you play starts recording, but doesnt actually record until the second note played.

i believe you'd still have to set the proper tempo for it to work. do like someone already recommended and turn off timing correct and just listen to the metronome swing whilst adjusting the tempo to your liking. then you can turn it off it bothers you.
