Does the 3000 save sequences as .mid???

I know the 3000 is similar 2 the 60's 3.1 OS but is it able 2 save sequences as .mid like the 2000XL? I remember someone saying that the 3000 saved midi files in the 1st .smf format which is not as common as 2nd .smf that most sequencers use. If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. -uno-

The MPC3000 if fitted with OS 3.11 or higher supports loading and saving of all standard *.MID types.
