okay,
i just bought my MPC60II off ebay... i need to get the memory expansion and it looks to me that FORAT is the cheapest and easiest way to do this since i live in LA. does $135bucks sound reasonable for parts and labor? if i could get the memory myself for substantially cheaper id do that and install myself, it cant be that difficult... also on another note and more importantly, once i get the SCSI option and the 3.1 OS installed from ROGERLINNDESIGNS.COM , does it matter what type of zip drive i get??? as long as it is an external scsi of course... i have been looking at ebay, prices are really cheap for external scsi zip drives! but i have noticed that some of them say they are for MAC and some say they are for PC... does it make a difference? or will any scsi zip drive work??? it made me wonder because these are so cheap and the price quote for a scsi zip drive at the FORAT website was extremely expensive in comparison ($225 for external) even more for an internal one... Please inform me if there is a certain type of scsi drive that i need to get it to work with my newly acquired MPC... im hoping that any one will work since the OS, scsi, and memory upgrades are already gonna cost me a small fortune! thanks anyone and everyone :)

nahh..it doesnt matter about the mac or pc thing mane, its essentially the same drive so just cop whichever one......also that forat thing is a great deal for you cause you live close by so i'd do it....$135 parts AND labor is a steal IMO....the only way i could see someone **** with forat outside of Cali was if you were making some industry money otherwise, i'd just by some records or a sound module or something but its a good deal for you so go for it....

any scsi zip will fit once you get the Marion Systems SCSI Card. The external Zip Drive at Forat for $225 is a ZIP 250. The reason it is so expensive is because they are pretty rare. Most external ZIP 250 drives are usb or serial connection. I used Forat once for a floppy drive and they only got me for $160 which I thought was a pretty good deal.

hey... just got my 3.10e upgrade and Marion Systems SCSI board and also got a zip drive from ebay... the SCSI cable i got with the drive is a 25 pin male to 50 pin male connector, but, the SCSI connection that i just installed in the MPC is a 25 pin also(as is the connector on the zip drive itself!)!!! do i just need a new cable? or are there adaptors??? hmmm.....
please help....
