Saving 3000 data on a CD-R?

Is it possible to save MPC3000 data on CD-R? I have a Glyph external burner with a CN50 SCSI connection. I tried hooking it up to my 3000 and it won't recognize it. Is Zip drive my only other option or is there a way to burn files to CD? Thanks.

just got my 3000.. would also like to know what options there are for backing up files.
