Hey, I'm new here. I got an MPC 60II comin in the mail soon. I've never used an MPC before (aside from trying them out in Guitar Center). So this will be my first MPC.
I'm not sure what OS is on the unit I'm getting and I'm not sure what kind of upgrades it has. So I just wanna brace myself for any replacing or upgrades I might have to perform.
First off, I'm running a PC with Windows XP will I be able to use the MPC Editor program with DS/DD disks in my PC and run them on the 60 with no problems? If I get the SCSI upgrade will I be able to do this as well? What about if I upgrade with OS 3.1 will I be able to use the Editor program with disks and/or whatever drive I attach to the SCSI?
Also if I do get the SCSI upgrade what's the best kind of drive (in terms of capacity and loading time) to attach to the MPC? I'm guessing a zip drive is the best because it seems to be the most common; what is a good price for a zip drive?
Where's a good cheap place to get DS/DD drives? I'm a starving fulltime student and want to get the best value for my buck. The links posted in the sticky on this page no longer have any in stock (according to the websites) and in my own searches the cheapest I could find is 10 for a lil over $3.
Thanks
