so my soft key 1 (the most important button on the machine!) finally packed it in, totally broke, i ordered the part from bruce and it should be here on monday...

anyone here replaced one ? i opened it up, but to get to the buttons looks kinda hellish... and its only 60 bucks to get it done, but it means waiting another day... and spending more dough..

bruce said its not hard if i can solder.. which i can, but im just scared of F'in up my baby..

anyone done this.. got any words of wisdom ?

peace

if only the cap is broken, no soldering is required. they just snap onto the circuit board. i think vst was charging only few bucks for 3 caps. for the contact switch underneath, desolder the 2 leads and replace with newer switch. very easy to do and the part cost about a buck.

I replaced all the switches in my 60 in about 2 hours. no big deal. This one is easy cause it is on the small board which is easy to remove. By the way you can get these parts (switches) for about $0.35 each from mouser.com. See the 60 faqs for the part number.
