Just Grabbed a 60II & S950!

What's up? I recently grabbed a 60II with SCSI (os unknown) & S950, both have the standard 740k or whatever it is. I'm sure i'm gonna have a little cleaning and repairing to do. I can wait to knock out some tracks with this combo.

Right now I'm using the 2500 with Logic but wanted to add some classics to the mix. Not too worried about limited sampling time but i'm going to grab the v3 OS upgrade ASAP if it' doesn't have it. I need to find the address for the Linn upgrades in Berkeley so i can go and grab my upgrades in person.

i thought os 2.12 supported SCSI. No?

2.12 = NO.

2.14 = YES and if so, possibly a very early SCSI board that might not have been made by MARION systems but instead by AKAI.

3.10e ( and other Roger Linn versions ) = YES and SCSI board made by MARION systems.

Thanks for the info. Can I use the older AKAI SCSI board with the 3.10e OS or would I need to upgrade to a MARION systems?

Cool. I dig the chops on the track but the quality is pretty rough. Could be the mp3 ... waiting on fedex! This thing better not arrive DOA.

Got my 60II and to my surprise it was maxed out with RAM, 3.10e & the MARION SCSI Not bad for $500!! Talk about making my day!

The display is very dim. How can i tell if i need a new LCD or just the backlight?

It won't be a new LCD that you need.

More than likely the display backlight will need replacing.

yeah. The screen seems fine just that the text lacks contrast against the background. I looked on the bottom and noticed a VST sticker so i guess the unit was serviced recently. It's cherry!!. Got a link to a backlight for a good deal? Guess i need to get reading up on that.
