What's the future of the 3000!!!!

My trusty old 3000 lately has had it's new home on the studio floor been replaced by the new 2500.

I know the sound ain't as crisp
I know the sequencer is a little more rugged
Build qualitiy ain't as tight

But the thing rocks.

Making complexed beats on it with time delays is so easy. I'm really thinking of laying her down to rest and moving forward with the times.

Things which can really speed up your game

Listen to alot of tracks Darkchild is putting out now. There alot cleaner and have some hardcore shifting within the groove. He's running a 4000 but the way the zonning works in the program mode your samples kinda sound the same to that current sound.

Check these demos out and tell me what ones are 2500 and 3000

I guess it all depends on the sound you want to achieve. I listened to your tracks and yes a 2500 suits your style a lot better. Me I'm the other way I'm trying to move away thinking of selling my MV-8000 and laying the Motif ES to rest for a 3000 for more of that neo soul, detroit, dirty dilla sound.

3k plus the sampling and sounds of the Motif is bananas.
It's a good setup.
I guess some people prefer for their stuff to come from one box.

hooked up and here tonite are off the 3000. u ain't worth that and you ain't lying to me off the 2500. YO---you got some nice beats---I'm really feeling them. .

The to make a new rom OS with these updates:

1) Better Delays - The 3 Delays the Mpc 3k has are almost unuseable. They need to update the delays on the a new OS.

2) A Better way of chopping samples- They must add to the MPC 3k ta feature simlar to the one in the 2500, wear you can auto chop samples and put them into a program.

3) An easier way to split stereo samples -Other way to split samples without having to copy and then delete on one side and then do over again.


4) Resampling- THEY MUST ADD RESAMPLING TO THE NEW OS.

What is "unuseable" about these delays ?

What "update" would "you" make to these delays ?

Similar to what the MPC60 has with it's pseudo stereo file playback capability and within respective support menus.

Possibly already in the pipe line and whole heart agreed with.

Two types of RESAMPLING exist in our little world and I'll explain them here as simple possible.

The AKAI S2XXX/S3XXX way, which is to change a samples "sample rate" via resampling digital filter processes. IE: Reducing or increasing a sample's sample rate. ( using a lower rate for Kick Drums, a higher rate for cymbals --- see the AKAI manuals for more info )

The ENSONIQ ASR way, which is to internally loop the main mix output back to the samplers input for re-recording. Often used to "re-record a sample with FX". ( see the Ensoniq manuals for more information )

Note in the first example the MPC60 uses a technique similar to this in it's sound compression routines.

Now Lamp you know that's not true.
You have 2 Tritons, MPC and ASR on deck.
I was talking about the people who want all their samples, drums and other sounds to come out the MPC, instead of using other samplers and synths.
A lot ot people do all their work from the MPC.

i dont need any of that,
id be happy with just a way to erase all within a partition....


and deticated keys in step edit to navigate between EVENT, and STEP, rather than always having to switch in the <options>

How about a copy function for the step editing screen?

To be honest i didnt quite feel track 2. I dont like the 3k sound anyway. The kicks just sound much better on the other tracks.

The Here 2Nite is a nice track (I see a lil bobby valentino influence). Your mixes are sonically good.

For me the 4k wins hands down when it comes to work flow and hittin the right spots. I can place my own 'feel' anywhere i want and it stays just there.

the 2500 works cool too, and much faster than my XL, but im gonna wait for the bugs to clear.

I spent shit loads on outboard over the years...........i always liked Teddy riley's mixes on the 2nd Blackstreet album and the 1st Men of vision. Loved the richness of the top end and the punchy lows.
