Scsi/Light Problem

So, my mpc decided to make some problems...
it didnt recognize any scsi device anymore...i tried other disks, other cables, other drives....nothing... it just boots up, but dont find a device.
next thing i recognize, when i boot up every possible led is on, even after the boot process... i can access every screen and as far as i checked everything else is working...

so, anyone got an idea? tommorow i call a service center near me if they ever repaired a 3000, they repair akai gear but possible not every machine.... but perhaps some of you have an idea...os problem? hardware problem?

Try reseating all the internal ribbon cables.

the led problem is fixed, just a loose connector...scsi dont work.
i spoke to the guy who do akai repairs, he`s in holiday for two weeks, so i have to save everything on floppys now....woooohhh

Could be a problem on the SCSI board with it's protection FUSE ... or with some of the fuse-able filter links that are present on the SCSI connector board that connects to the outside world.

Try your MPC3000 with another drive if you have one.

Try all the usual stuff too like formatting a cart and see if the machine can perform this option.

i tried both of my iomega zipdrives(259&100MB) and a hardrive i found, new disks, different cables, differnt scsi id's, the mpc didnt take notice of any of that, i tried formatting, the "make active" command.....nothing...

any possibility to test the scsi board by myself?

Maybe a chance to test the board your-self ... Are you a technician ? Capable with a multi meter ? No how to blind navigate your way around circuit boards ?

With the power off/disconnected.

Check the continuity of fuse-able "filter" links between the SCSI board, outside world and other boards in the machine. Check also the state of the SCSI fuse on the SCSI board ... note, to the inexperienced, the SCSI fuse doen't look like a regular fuse.

ok, i did some testing today but didnt found anything wrong... i checked the internal connections to the rest of the machine as well as the connections to the outside... so i think i'll wait till the guy from the repair center is back to work... there must be something to do with this problem;)
