Just got my MPC 60II

so i have it sitting in my room weird thing was that i know the os3.1 is on there which i thought has the capabilites of a mpc3000 but now i know it aint got no effects except for the delay out when i read the manual soooo i know i can assign pads samples etc on different channels i read about the s950 what does it do?? what is it for?? its a sampler rack right?? anyways i wanna know what i have to get to put effects on my songs...i didnt bought any gear so i need a digital 16 track recorder with effects or do i have to get me other equipment i have no clue???
