Mpc 60MK1 SHould i buy pleas help?

I have a chance of picking one up for
200.00.The owner told me that he had someone look at it .but i dont think
he knows to much about mpcs as he works on mostly ensoniq stuff.he told me that it turns on but the lcd is not readable and that it might need a new
motherboard"not sure about this 100%.is there a way to find out about the board ?i know about mpcs having
issues with the lcd.if there is a problem with only the lcd how much would
it coast to have it fixed..

most likely it needs a new backlight. If your sure it does GET THE DAMN thing and put a new backlight in it. use the search function to aid you as far as that procedure

the backlight itself costs about 30 euros but the motherboard ??

It may need a new LCD unit (expensive) if he's sayin that the motherboard may also be faulty then... I'd stay away & save up for a fully functional model.

It's a big gamble...
