What is the 3.1 os? - For the mpc-60..

For the MPC-60..

I dunno if it's 3.0, or 3.1, doesn't matter.. what exactly is the OS update? Is it booted from a floppy? Is it possible to make backup copies of the upgrade? I'm thinking of buying it, just needed some info.
