I've had enough of these screens!

Can someone tell me what I need to get my existing 60 screens:

Is all I need a backlight yeah? I'm not to up on the terminology of backlights, displays, inverters etc. So don't want to buy the wrong thing. I've been on the Mk.1 this past week and I struggle to see the cursor there has to be a better way! I liked the green "indi-glo" style one that someone posted but couldn't find the link. It was japanese from memor....

You need a new backlight bro.I just replaced mine last night with one that I purchased from Telesisgear.It cost me about $35 if I remember correctly and I got it in less than a week.The backlight is super easy to replace.You have to open up the 60 and disconnect the LCD display and then unsolder the old backlight and solder in the new one.It took me less than an hour to replace mine and I can honestly say that it has turned this thing into an enjoyable piece of equipment again.

I just ordered a backlight from Telesisgear. I hope this backlight makes my MPC60II look Crispy New .

i hear theres a difference in between the 60 and the MKII backlight installation... just make sure you have the service manual or good instructions for each when you open em up... you can probably find more details in the 60 bible thread at the top of the front page in the 60/3000 forum...

Don't know if you will get the MPC60II screen to look the way you want, since it is reversed, as in light text on dark background.

Yeah, I don't think it's ever going to be as bright as a new MPC screen. I threw a new LCD & backlight in mine & it's still not super bright. Good enough to get work done but not as bright as a 2500 or 4000 screen.

I was disappointed after changing the backlight in my MPC60II, I was expecting it to be a lot brighter than what it was.

Maybe the third party backlights are brighter, mine was an Akai replacement.

I've done this recently too.

you should note that the basic colours of the backlight for the 60 and 60II are different!

The 60 is greenish, while the 60II is blueish.

My understanding is that there is NOTHING that can change this, whatever type of backlight you use.

It is an easy job, with a little bit of soldering, and the chance to clear a bit of fluff out from inside the box!
