Hi all, sorry for the newbie question but I've gotten my hands on a cheap scsi zip and was wondering if there was anything to be careful of? As in zip settings etc. Also, can I just plug it in, format it and be on my way?

Like I said, I'm sorry for the newbie question, I just don't want to hurt my baby.

I did do a search but didn't have much luck- so thanks in advance!

Then learn how to use the search tool as it will return responses if prompted correctly.

SCSI ZIP only. ( critical )

If the SCSI ZIP is the only device on the MPC60 SCSI chain then set TERMINATION to ON/ENABLED.

Set the ZIP SCSI ID to 5 or 6.

When powering up.

Power up SCSI ZIP and insert ZIP CART before powering on the MPC60.

When powering down.

Eject ZIP cart, power down MPC60 and power down SCSI ZIP last.

RTFM and also the documents that come with the MARION SYSTEMS SCSI option board. ( download from Roger Linn Design's web page ).

Rohan.

Thanks for that... the Zip ended up dead anyway!
I read the manual but was wondering if there any tips/tricks, like the turning the zip on before the mpc as you mentioned.
Cheers, I'll go back to the drawing board...
