Questiuons for 3000 newbie

So I am about to get a 3000 from an original owner for $1400 (although I will try to bargain). He says it has 16 megs of ram. I can upgrade this to 32 right? How can I tell which operating system is on it? The backlight looks good but the pads feel a little iffy. I am used to a Boss DR-660. This is a big step up for me but I think I like the pads better on the Boss. mI have also considered a 60 that I can get for cheap and then slowly upgrade it. Decisions, decisions....cheers....Scott

yes can be expandable to 32 megs. there is a splash screen when you boot up the mpc, where it tells you the os ver. dont worry about the pads. they last a long time.
