MPC 60 Second Hand

Hello Everybody,
i don't found a place for present myself,so iam Stereo (21 year old) and iam french so excuse me for my bad english.
I have buy a MPC 60 (second hand).This drummachin was made since 1987 and i think the pads are a little bit used.
It's my first MPC in my life and i never used an other MPC so i don't know if the pads are really used, but i must really to tap hard to listen to the sound and sometimes the sounds are playing twice...
What do you think about it?Do i might change the pads?

maybe try this:

1. make sure 'full level is on.' this button is located on the top-left corner of the machine - it will turn RED indicating full level has been set.

2. to make the sound play one time, set the pad parameter to MONO. you do this by hitting EDIT, option #2 (i think), and then setting the pad that plays the sample to MONO. you have three options: MONO- the sound will play one time and restart with each press of the pad, POLY- plays multiple samples of the same sound, overlapping one another, and NOTE OFF- the sound will play only as long as you hold down the pad.

The probleme is that even if i turn on the "Full Level" & the "Mono" options the pads somtimes make some "double" notes.It's risky.

IT's probably the bounce of your finger - It happens sometimes to me also if i don't pay attention.-

That's a definite possibility for the double sounds. You have to get used to the feel of your pads. It was the same for me at first. And as for them not responding well, it's most likely your pad sensors. You may need to replace them.

taper sur une MPC c'est pas la meme chose que taper sur une touche de clavier, j'ai pris un petit temps d'adaptation pour savoir taper sans que ca double... il lm'arrive encore de doubler ma note quand je tape nonchalament sur mes pads.autre chose, si tu dis que tu dois taper fort c que tu n'a peut etre pas enclencher le bouton de full velocité en haut a gauche.

voila, en gros c'est ce qui s'est dit, mais la au moins tu l'a en francais.

salut IDK on s'est deja parlé sur AF.Je pense que tu voulais dire FULL LEVEL et oui c'est bien enclanché.pour linstant j' ai pas encore de thune pour changer les pads donc je vais devoir m'y faire.mais quand on se dits que la machine est fabriquée depuis 1987 et que certain utilisisateur de MPC 2000,voir 1000 ont des probleme de pads et les changent je me dis que mes pads qui ont facilement 20 ans doivent avoir besoin d'un petit coup de jeune,nah?

Thanks for the answer.When i see that MPC 2000 and MPC 1000's user have trouble with their pads and need to change it i'm thinking about my 20 years pads which probably need a resurection too,isn't it?

Not sure about MPC2000 pad problems, as I have not heard of many problems with them, but MPC1000 pad problems are apparently caused by poor design of the pads, meaning (I think) that the MPC1000 will eventually fail a lot quicker than they should. This problem is apparently only with the MPC1000 pads, as all other MPC pads are of a different design to the MPC1000.

Right, this probleme is more for the MPC 100 pads!

T'as nettoyé la nappe qui relie les sensors des pads a la carte mère ? sur la mienne c'étaitvraiment crado et ça me faisait jouer les samples avec des clicks , a voir .

j'ai encore jamais démonté la mpc donc je ne sais pas du tout à quoi sa ressemble.Pieuvre yaurais moyen qu'on se check en privé pour que tu me dise comment demonter la mpc et comment la netoyer?
