problem with my scsi drive - help me !!!

i write this post in English (i try) and French
I have a big problem
I have just buy a MPC 3000 who work perfectly.
but my scsi drive have some probleme.
it don't wan't format any of my zip disk. On the screen i have this message /

Hard disk format failure. Please check that the hard disk is turned on and properly connected. (FF51:307/30/00)

It's not really true, because when i have buy my MPC i have recieve a Zip (250 Mo) with it.
With this zip i arrive to save and load sound (PGM et SND...) but it's impossible to format it. Like the other ZIp i have (100Mo)
One more thing, when i start my mpc before my scsi drive i can't load save format, ... any disk it indicate the same message. So i need to start my SCSi before my MPC. And i can't change the zip without reboot my MPC.
Thanks for your suggestion (maybe software or harware)


have you a suggestion on the possibility of change the floppy drive by anyone other disk drive. (like flash card or SD card or other) ?
Wich is the best solution ?

Je viens d'acheter une MPC 3000 et j'ai un probleme de taille.
Je n'arrive pas a formater mes disquettes zip (100 et 250Mo).
J'arrive à sauver mes son et PGM sur un seul d'entre eux !!!! (mais lui aussi je n'arrive pas à le formater)
Le message d'erreur suivant m'est afficher.

De plus si je ne démarre pas le lecteur zip avant de démarrer ma MPC je ne peux plus lire (loader) ni sauver quoique ce soit. très embètant après une soirer complète.
D'ou peux bien venir le probleme ? hardware ou software ?
Si quelqu'un peut m'éclairer.

Je me demande si je ne devait pas enlever le Floppy et le remplacer par un lecteur de carte SD ou autre.
votre avis ??

ps: quelqu'un sait ou je pourrai touver l'os 3.11 (je voudrais le réinstaller)

pretty sure only the 100mb works, just use that one

Connected SCSI ZIP250 has returned a "FORMAT UNIT FAILED" response to the SCSI "LOW LEVEL FORMAT/FORMAT UNIT" command that was issued by your MPC3000.

Reason:

ZIP250 drive mechanism can not LOW LEVEL FORMAT 100 MEGABYTE ZIP disks.

Some firmware versions of ZIP250 drive mechanism can not LOW LEVEL FORMAT any size of ZIP disk.

1: Download, unpack to a floppy and boot OS 3.16 from http://www.mpc3000.com/updated_os.htm

2: Use the <Fast Format> option in the OS 3.16 disk format screens.

Then the ZIP disk will be formatted.

But is it impossible to fix the os or is it necesssary to charge at each time i start the MPC
