MPC 3000 with Logic Pro, Motu 828

Hi...I am realtively new to the MPC world...I managed to buy an MPC 3000 a few weeks ago to go with my Logic Pro set up....basically wanted to construct drum tracks and loops and get some of the legendary flavour into my tracks...what would be the best way of hooking the system up as far as midi is concerned...?i've got a Roland JV2080 module that i also used to use many moons ago with my trusty cubase and s900...any help would be great..

Many many ways to do it. But if you've already got Logic as a central part of yr workflow, maybe start out by sequencing your drums on the MPC, get Logic to spit out MIDI Beat Clock or MTC for sync and roll that way. When you're happy with your drums just track them into Logic as audio. OR you could dump Logic altogether and sequence everything from the MPC!!!

Sometimes if I'm in the mood I'll set up a software synth or sampler that I'm feeling in Tools, get the MPC to spit out some MIDI towards it and just roll THAT way, using Tools as a sound module LOL!! Don't know how to set Logic up to do that, but it's kinda cool cause then all the MIDI is still coming from the MPC and you still just dump it as audio at the end provided everything is synched up. Many options.
