Alright here's the deal. I want to use my MPC 60 as the main center for my production. Right now I have it synced up to my MPC 1000 & my EMU MP-7.
My main focus is to use:
MPC 60 for Drums off of Floppies
MPC 1000 for other various samples from records
MP-7 for synths & basslines
What I want to do is trigger the MPC 1000 & MP-7 with the 60's pads and sequence everything inside the 60. Never having to touch the pads of the 1000 or the 7.
So far I've been able to trigger the 1000 & the 7 with the 60, but when it comes time to sequence everything goes haywire.
On the 60....
Midi Out 1 is going to my CPU sending beat clock to Nuendo
Midi Out 2 is going to Midi In 1 on the 1000
Midi Out 3 is going to Midi In 1 on the MP-7
When I sequence on the 60.....
I start with drums off of my floppy.
The Drums work on program OFF and program 1.
I also have the channel OFF since I'm sequencing off of the floppy.
So I record a 4 bar 1/8 hihat drum loop on TRK 1 and everything works.
Next I try to trigger the 1000 with the 60's pads.....
I go to TRK 2 on the 60.
I have the 60 set to Program 2 and Channel 1B-Synth01B & OFF.
Great the sounds from the 1000 are being triggered with the 60's pads.
I hit record on the 60 and the sounds record from my 1000 but the hi hat loop is gone.
I suspect I'm having some sort of problems with the way I have the programs set up on the 60 and not midi. Since I can get the sounds to trigger from the other 2 machines. I wouldn't have asked this question but I'm the type of person who likes to work for 3-5 hours daily, making anywhere from 3-7 beats. I started trying to sync things up early last week and havn't made anything since. I searched high and dry for an explanation on how to do this and failed. I figured there's plenty of you on here who use your 60 to trigger some other sort of sound module.
Sorry for the detailed description. I just wanted to put it all out there, so questions wouldn't have to be asked back and forth.
Thanks
