floppy disk problems

hi everybody, here is my problem

since i've installed the os 3.10 on my mpc60, i've some serious sh... with my floppy :
when i load a sound, no probleme but if i want load a second sound, i've got an error message so when i want load many sounds or a sequence or a song, i must eject my floopy and retry the action.
i though it was a poblem of my floppy drive but i'v tested an other floppy drive ( of my old atari falcon 030) and the problem is the same.

what should i do ?

as for your floppy dilemma, does this happen on every disk you try? were all the disks formatted on the 60 and saved on the 60? or, were you using MPC editor program to transfer snds to floppy via computer?

does it happen for every file on the floppy (i.e. snd, pgm, par, seq etc)? sounds like it could be a problem with your disks. maybe try using a new disk, either a 1.44MB (HD) formatting with the tape over the hole trick or another DD disk.

i'll explain to you : it happens on every disk and with every files !
i don't use mpc editor i sample the sound by the old way
with my floppy drive i can't format using my mpc so i format 1.44hd disk
( i use hd 720ko formated only, don't have dd ) with a lil prog and a piece of scotch on the hole of the floppy.

here is the error message :


"There is no Floppy disk in the drive. please insert a disk" [error code: FF60]

i though the probleme was the floppy drive but with another floppy drive (TEAC fd-235hf) the sh.. still here.

my bad on thinkin' ennio morricone passed away! he just won a lifetime achievement oscar award this past weekend! it must've been someone else (maybe maynard ferguson).

anyways, it sounds like your problem could be the jumper settings. cuz you should be able to use the tape over the hole trick on your HD disks and format. i really don't know what else it could be.
